BU aims to even the all-time series with the Wildcats
WACO, Texas – Baylor volleyball returns to the Ferrell Center Sunday afternoon to host Arizona at 2 p.m. CT for "Vamos Osos" Day, looking to build on Thursday night's sweep at Texas Tech.
The Bears (10-5, 2-3 Big 12) hit .292 as a team and held the Red Raiders to .109, with Victoria Davis leading with 13 kills on .522. Ksenia Rakhmanchik added 16 kills, while Isabela Haggard finished with 42 assists.
Aiming to string together back-to-back Big 12 wins for the first time this season, head coach Ryan McGuyre wants to build on Thursday night's success in the Hub City.
"They're all important from day one," he said. "But they're definitely all important moving forward. We've got to continue to take care of business at home and not just get wins, but we're still building and wanting to improve and get better. We're looking forward to getting a couple of days of training for some things that we can work on and still add to it, get after it and play a great Arizona team."
Arizona makes just its second trip to Waco, the last coming in 2024. The home team has won each of the last three meetings between the programs, including a 3-1 Baylor victory at the Ferrell Center in that 2024 meeting.
Sunday's matchup will also feature Baylor's annual "Vamos Osos" celebration, honoring Hispanic Heritage Month. Fans are encouraged to bring the energy to the Ferrell Center, with post-match autographs available following the match.
Junior Taylor Crain looks forward to a fun day of support and interaction with the Baylor community.
"It truly takes a village for this program," she said. "There are so many people that love us, support us, want us to win, who are all invested in this program, and we love having those people to play for. "It's just so worth it to just give your all a little extra on each point just because there are people that you're also trying to make happy as well."
First serve comes your way at 2 p.m. CT Sunday with John Morris and Faith Lynch on the call for ESPN+. Stats are available throughout the season at BaylorBears.com/Stats.
Single-match tickets for the 2026 season can be found at BaylorBears.com/tickets or by calling the Baylor Athletics Ticket Office at 254-710-1000.
