BU enters Thursday having won 14-straight in the Hubbaplex
LUBBOCK, Texas – Baylor volleyball returns to the road Thursday night looking to bounce back from its four-set loss to No. 24 Colorado, traveling to Lubbock to face Texas Tech at 6 p.m. CT.
Baylor has enjoyed significant recent success against the Red Raiders, winning 37 of the last 41 meetings between the programs after Texas Tech won 37 of the first 40. The Bears enter Thursday with a 74-35 record against in-state opponents during the McGuyre era, including a 17-2 mark against the Red Raiders.
Isabela Haggard continues to direct the Baylor offense at a high level, ranking among the Big 12's top five in assists per set at 9.38. The setter has helped guide a Baylor attack that ranks second in the league in hitting percentage (.299) in conference contests.
Ksenia Rakhmanchik also continues to be one of the league's most productive offensive players, entering the weekend ranking among the Big 12 leaders and the nation's top 10 in attacks per set (11.27), kills per set (4.65) and points per set (5.08).
Rakhmanchik has recorded double-digit kills in 23-straight matches dating back to last season and has led Baylor in kills, attacks and points in 13 of the team's 14 matches this season.
Defensively, Morgan Madison enters the week averaging 3.74 digs per set, ranking fourth in the Big 12. The libero will look to anchor a Baylor back row tasked with slowing down the Red Raiders on their home court.
The Bears enter Thursday's contest at 9-5 overall and 1-3 in Big 12 play, having started 1-3 in conference play for just the third time in the Ryan McGuyre era. Baylor will look to avoid its first 1-4 start to league play since 2014.
