Story lines
• Baylor embarks on a big week where it will play one of it's most common opponents in No. 11 Texas A&M (76th meeting) followed by one of its least common in Utah (7th, 8th and 9th meeting), all games will be on ESPN+
• With the second-most meetings of any BU opponent, the Bears look to close the gap on A&M's all-time series lead of 54-20-1, while building on a 4-2 mark against the Utes
• Baylor and Utah will meet for the first time as Big 12 Foes, last playing a non-conference game in Salt Lake City in 2024, just months before the Utes would officially join the league.
• BU looks to bounce back from its third-straight conference-series loss, The Bears have not lost four-straight conference series' since 2019
• As teams jockey for one of the top-eight spots in Oklahoma City The Utes enter the weekend just a game back of the Bears in the loss column (1.5 games back overall) for sixth
• A series win over Utah would give Baylor the tiebreaker over three of the five teams jockeying for the final four spots in Bricktown (Iowa State, UCF and Utah)
• This Baylor team has shown a great ability to come from behind, winning six times this season, when trailing after the fourth inning or later, including last Friday against the No. 23 Jayhawks where they trailed 7-6 entering the top of the seventh before plating a pair for the 8-7 win.
• In its last home series against Houston, Baylor eclipsed 500 all-time wins at Getterman Stadium, Baylor's next win at home will mark its 26th home winning season in 27 seasons of the venues existence
• BU has a 500-201 mark all-time at Getterman Stadium
• With a 12-3 win over UCF on March 14th, Glenn Moore surpassed 1,100 career wins, the ninth-most among active D1 coaches and the sixth-most among active power-conference head coaches
• Moore is in his 30th season as a head coach, making him the fifth-longest tenured power-conference head coach
• Ranked 40th in the RPI entering the week, the Bears have been as high as 16th this season, playing the third most difficult schedule in the league
• With 14 games against ranked opponents this season and seven more scheduled to close the season, BU is looking at 21 ranked opponents this regular season, its most since 2011 when the Bears saw 22 ranked teams en route to the College World Series
• Baylor has been buoyed by its pitching staff spearheaded by a couple of Texas natives who transferred back to their home state in Georgetown's Creager (Arizona St.) and Lake Jackson's Peyton Tanner (Tennessee)
• Creager enters this weekend in the top-10 in the conference in innings (107.2) and top-10 in strikeouts (63)
• Tanner has 66 strikeouts, giving Baylor two pitchers with at least 60 K's since 2024
• Entering the season with a combined 64.0 innings a season ago, Tanner (76.1) and Creager (107.2) have combined for 184 innings this season
• Sadie Ross has established herself as a reliable third option, tying a career-high with six wins, boasting a staff-best 3.19 ERA to go along with a 6-2 record
• Senior Amber Toven is in the midst of her best collegiate season, leading active players on the team in batting average (.353) and has a team-best 41 RBIs, the most by a Baylor player since Shaylon Govan's 54 in 2024.
• Named to Softball's America's top-15 midseason shortstops, Toven has had a 10-game hit streak and a 20-game on-base streak (both career bests) at different times this season
• Toven and Brooklyn Carter have shared the leadoff spot for much of the season, Carter who is batting .350 with a .412 OBP, creating chaos on the bases with 16 stolen bases, which is top-5 in the league
• Carter is statistically the toughest hitter in the conference to strike out K-ing on just 3% of her plate appearances this season
• Cran enters the weekend leading the team with 17 extra-basehits on the strength of 12 doubles, which is top-10 in the Big 12. Additionally her 12 doubles are the most by a Baylor Player since Aliyah Binford had 15 in 2022
• Freshmen Kaygen Marshall leads the team with eight homeruns, the most by a Baylor Freshman since Kassidy Krupit hit 10 in 2019 (6th most by a freshman in the Glenn Moore era)
• Olivia Buettner has worked herself into a lineup regular appearing in 33 games with 24 starts and ranks second among active players on the team in on-base% (.420)
• Freshman Gianna Gusman has also contributed in her first season on campus appearing in 31 games with 27 starts, hitting .250, with several highlight-reel plays in the outfield, replacing the injured Karynton Dawson
• Toven (Arizona, 2022), Carter (Washington, 2023) and Tanner (Tennessee, 2025) all boast Women's College World Series experience at their former stops
• Picked eighth in the Preseason Big 12 Coaches Poll, Baylor has met or outperformed its preseason expectations in 17 of Moore's 25 previous seasons at Baylor
