Bears ready for second road match of the 2026 campaign
AUSTIN, Texas – Baylor soccer is back on the road Thursday evening, traveling south on I-35 to meet Texas at Mike A. Myers Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and will be broadcast live on the SEC Network with Glenn Davis and Jill Loyden on the call.
Thursday's match is the 34th meeting between the Bears and the Longhorns, with the green and gold securing a 1-0 victory at home last season in their most recent of three matchups in the Michelle Lenard era. Texas leads the all-time series 10-18-5.
The Longhorns are fresh off a 1-0 victory over Grand Canyon in Phoenix to start the year 3-0-1, while also seeing wins over HCU and Pitt and a draw against Arizona State. Amalia Villarreal leads the team with three goals on 11 shots.
Baylor opened the season with a road upset of then-No. 10 Arkansas, winning 4-1, then beat Texas A&M 2-1 before falling to Texas State 3-1 at home.
Lauren Omholt and Callie Conrad both lead the Bears with two goals each. Omholt's two goals have come on nine shots, while Conrad is perfect with two goals on two shots. Omholt is also the first player on the BU squad to reach five points this season, with one assist. Brynnlee Bohannon and Theresa McCullough lead the team in assists, with two each so far.
Following Thursday's game, Baylor will be back at Betty Lou Mays Field to host Pepperdine on Sunday at 7 p.m.
