The husband-wife duo has spent the last two seasons leading Northwestern State
WACO – Baylor softball completed its coaching staff with the additions of Jenny and Brad Fuller, head coach Glenn Moore announced on Friday.
The husband-and-wife duo has spent the last two seasons at the helm of the Northwestern State softball program, while Jenny [Isham], a Lorena, Texas native, spent two seasons as a pitcher for Moore, leading the team in wins [11] and shutouts [3] during the 2008 season. Boasting a 13-3 mark in the circle, she ranks second in program history with an .813 winning percentage.
On the heels of losing two valued long-time assistants in Britni Newman and Steve "Hoot" Johnigan, Moore is thrilled to fill those shoes with two rising stars in the coaching profession.
"Jenny and Brad have had tremendous success at every stop," he said. "They are not only known for their aggressive recruiting style but also for their skill development. I'm excited to have them return home to their roots to continue their success right where it all began."
The duo is coming off their second season in Natchitoches, where they helped the Demons to a 24-29 record, a 17-win improvement from year one. The double-digit jump in wins was the second-largest turnaround in the country.
Under their guidance, Mattison Buster was named the Southland Conference's Newcomer of the Year, one of three all-conference honorees for the Demons in 2026.
NSU finished seventh in the Southland Conference, two spots ahead of its preseason projection, in a league that got multiple teams into the NCAA Tournament.
In their first season in the City of Lights, Jenny and Brad laid the foundation for the program, with 17 freshmen and sophomores on the 18-person roster. Despite the youth, the Demons upset No. 20 Mississippi State in Starkville, Miss., for the program's first ranked win in 21 years.
The performance in Mississippi served as a springboard for Sophia Livers to make the SLC All-Defensive Team, while Aly Delafield produced the highest batting average (.398) in league play by a Demon since 2015.
Prior to their time at NSU, they were at Pittsburg State, where the Gorillas won 100 games, produced four all-Americans, six academic all-Americans, seven all-region players and 18 all-conference players during their tenure.
From 2018-2021, the combo worked together at Northern State in Aberdeen, S.D., where players broke 17 different single-game, season or career records. In their first season, Northern State finished with the second-highest team batting average in program history at the time, and the first average over .300 in two decades.
Jenny began her head-coaching career in 2016, where she joined up with Brad at Cardinal Stritch in Milwaukee, Wisc., helping the Wolves to a 59-30 mark in two seasons.
Prior to spending a season as an assistant at UT Dallas, Jenny spent five seasons in Waco as an assistant coach for her alma mater, McLennan, helping guide the Highlanders to the 2011 NJCAA World Series and the 2014 Region V Tournament title as part of a 46-8 campaign.
Baylor softball is coming off a 30-win season and its third NCAA Tournament appearance in the last four seasons after advancing to the NCAA Austin Regional final, its 13th regional final in 17 NCAA appearances.
