The decorated NJAA All-American joins BU after successful stint at Southeastern
WACO, Texas — Baylor softball head coach Glenn Moore announced the signing of right-handed pitcher Haley Crawford on Thursday.
Crawford joins the Bears after one season at Southeastern Louisiana and two standout seasons at Temple College.
"We've known about Haley for quite a while, going back to her days just down the road at Temple College," Moore said. "She has good stuff, attacks hitters and has been a part of winning teams everywhere she's played. We're also excited to bring another Texas kid back closer to home and welcome Haley to the Baylor Family."
A Houston native, Crawford spent the 2026 season at Southeastern Louisiana, helping guide the Lions to one of the most successful seasons in program history. Southeastern finished 46-16 overall and 24-3 in Southland Conference play, capturing the program's first Southland Conference regular-season championship and earning the league's first at-large NCAA Tournament bid since 2003.
Crawford played a key role in the Lions' pitching staff, posting a 4-2 record with a 1.54 ERA across 54.2 innings pitched. She tied for the third-most saves in the Southland Conference and helped Southeastern advance to the NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional. Crawford also turned in one of her top performances of the season against New Mexico, tossing a season-high 6.0 innings.
Prior to Southeastern, Crawford enjoyed a dominant two-year career at Temple College. During the 2025 season, she went 25-9 with a 2.05 ERA while striking out 189 batters in 191.1 innings pitched, establishing herself as one of the top junior college pitchers in the country.
As a freshman in 2024, Crawford earned NJCAA Second Team All-America honors after posting a 29-7 record with 214.0 innings pitched and 135 strikeouts. She was also named an NJCAA All-American, All-Region and All-Conference selection during her Temple career.
Over her two seasons with the Leopards, Crawford appeared in 85 games and compiled a 54-16 career record with a 2.07 ERA and 324 strikeouts. Her durability and consistency helped establish Temple as one of the top junior college programs in the region.
Crawford is BU's second Southland Conference pickup this offseason in the circle as SLC Newcomer of the Year, Mattison Buster signed with the Bears earlier this month.
