STORYLINES
LEADING OFF
• Baylor Baseball hits the road again for another premier weekend tournament at the 2026 BRUCE BOLT College Classic in Houston at Daikin Park, home of the Houston Astros.
• The Bears will face three ranked opponents in No. 11 Ole Miss, No. 3 Texas and No. 23 UTSA. Rankings are reflective of a team's highest ranking across the five major college baseball polls -- D1Baseball, Baseball America, NCBWA, USA Today Coaches Poll and Perfect Game.
• BU is coming off a 9-8 victory over Stephen F. Austin on Tuesday night, in which the Bears hit three home runs, including Hunter Snow's first-career blast. Freshman OF Brady Janusek, who also homered, stole home in the bottom of the eighth inning for what amounted to be the game-winning run.
• Redshirt senior 1B Tyce Armstrong hit his team-leading fourth long ball of the year, tying him for third-most in the Big 12.
• BU returns 20 players from its 2025 roster, including three position player starters (Johnson, Sanders, Riebock), and welcomes 17 newcomers. Baylor has 19 underclassmen (Fr., R-Fr., So., R-So.) on its 2026 squad.
• 30 players on the 37-man roster are in their first or second years with the program.
SERIES HISTORY AGAINST THE BRUCE BOLT COLLEGE CLASSIC FIELD
• Baylor is 5-1 all-time against Ole Miss, and last faced the Rebels in the 2017 Astros College Classic, when the Bears won a 4-0 contest on Friday, March 3. BU has won each of the last five meetings in the all-time series with the Rebels.
• This will be the first meeting between Baylor and Texas since the Longhorns departed the Big 12 at the end of the 2024 season. Baylor is 114-254-4 all-time against UT, with its most recent win over the Burnt Orange coming in the 2024 series opener on a Friday night, 4-3, in 11 innings.
• Baylor is 37-10 all-time against UTSA, but just 1-2 against the Roadrunners under fourth-year head coach Mitch Thompson. Last year, UTSA made a run to the Super Regionals, though BU won a 5-0 contest over the 'Runners in the season's first midweek game on Tuesday, Feb. 18.
