Opponents Set for BSB’s Trip to 2027 Amegy Bank College Baseball Series

ARLINGTON, Texas – Opponents have been set for Baylor Baseball's trip to the 2027 Amegy Bank College Baseball Series at Globe Life Field in Arlington, as announced by REV Entertainment on Monday morning.

The Bears will take on Oregon State, Iowa and Oregon at the tournament on Feb. 26-28, 2027.

This will be BU's third appearance at the College Baseball Series in Arlington and first trip back to Globe Life Field since the 2025 season.

"We are thrilled to be returning to Globe Life Field for the 2027 Amegy Bank College Baseball Series," said fifth-year head coach Mitch Thompson. "This is always a first-class event with premier competition and an elite environment for our players. It's a great opportunity for our Baylor fans in DFW to come see us early in the season. We are looking forward to testing ourselves against other top teams and competing once again at the home of the Texas Rangers."

With this announcement, Baylor's complete 2027 schedule has now been revealed. BU will play a combined 22 games against nine NCAA Tournament teams next spring and face four conference champions from a year ago. Sixteen 30-game winners, including each of the Bears three opponents at the College Baseball Series tournament, headline the upcoming campaign.

This will be the fourth meeting between Baylor and Oregon State in program history and third-consecutive year in which the two sides have met in a non-conference tournament. OSU has won each of the previous two meetings with a 3-1 victory at the Round Rock Classic last season and a 4-3 win at the 2025 Amegy Bank College Baseball Series. The Beavers were eliminated in the final of the Eugene Regional last year after a 45-14 campaign.

BU won its only prior contest against Iowa, 12-7, on March 21, 1995, in Waco. The Hawkeyes are coming off a 33-23 season in which they went 15-15 during Big Ten play.

After a 43-18 record and third place finish in the Big Ten, Oregon hosted a regional as the No. 11 team in the country and advanced to the Austin Super Regional in 2026. This will be the second meeting in program history between the Ducks and the Bears, with both being played at Globe Life Field. Oregon won a narrow 7-4 contest on Feb. 17, 2024, in the prior meeting.

Baylor is coming off a 29-27 campaign that saw the Bears finish eighth in the Big 12 with 14 league wins, their most since 2019. BU's offense mashed 60 home runs, the most in a single season since 2009 and eighth-most in program history, in addition to stealing 95 bases, the most in a single season since 2012 and ninth-most in program history. On the mound, Baylor allowed just 3.85 walks per nine, ranking inside the nation's top-50 with all three of its weekend starting pitchers ranking inside the top-10 in the Big 12 in the metric. And, the Bears fielded at a .974 clip, their best in a single season since 2019.

This marks the third year Amegy Bank will serve as title sponsor of the College Baseball Series, a series of premier early-season college baseball tournaments in Arlington. A portion of proceeds from each tournament weekend will benefit Shriners Children's Hospitals.
