
Baylor Women’s Golf Continues Fall Slate in Tennessee

Seven Bears set to compete at Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate
Knoxville, Tenn. – Baylor Women's Golf team is back on the road, heading to the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate in Knoxville, Tennessee. The three-day event runs from Oct. 4-6, at Cherokee Country Club and features 15 teams representing nine conferences.
The field includes teams from the Big 12 and SEC, with Baylor, and host, Tennessee highlighting the field. Tennessee enters ranked No. 16, 10 spots ahead of Baylor. The Vols enter the week as the defending champions of the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate as well as the reigning SEC champions.
Also in the field, Campbell University is coming off a victory at the Tot Hill Farm Invitational in North Carolina. With both programs entering the week in strong form, the Bears will once again face a deep field as they continue through the heart of their fall schedule.
Baylor enters the week following a ninth place finish at the Schooner Fall Classic in Norman, Oklahoma. The Bears saved their best golf for the final round, firing a 5-under team score to climb the leaderboard. Bridget Boczar highlighted the closing round with a 5-under 65, tying the program record for the lowest single-round score.
The Bears will send a mix of experience and youth to Knoxville, with Yurang Li, Sophia Ellestad, Charlotte Brook, Malena Castro and Bridget Boczar making up Baylor's five-player lineup. Paloma Ibarra and Sofie Nooij will also make the trip and compete as individuals, giving Baylor seven players in the field.
Ellestad, looks forward to another opportunity early in her sophomore campaign, while veterans Li, Brook, Castro and Boczar bring significant collegiate experience into the week. Boczar and Castro both finished inside the top 25 at the Schooner Fall Classic, giving BU momentum heading into their third event of the fall.
The tournament is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. CT on Sunday, with three days of competition running through Tuesday. Results and live scoring for the event can be found on Scoreboard by Clippd.
