Bears Set to Compete on Golf Channel for Three Days at Halbert National
GRANBURY, Texas — Baylor women's golf is staying in state for the first time this fall heading north to Granbury, Texas, for the inaugural Abilene Christian Intercollegiate, held Oct. 19-21 at Halbert National. The three-day event will feature both men's and women's collegiate teams competing on the same course, with live coverage on Golf Channel each day from 4-7 p.m. ET (3-6 p.m. CT).
The Bears enter their final tournament of the fall season following a strong start that has taken them to South Carolina, Oklahoma and Tennessee. Baylor is coming off a runner-up finish at the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate in Knoxville, Tenn., where five of the seven Bears competing finished inside the top 10. Senior Bridget Boczar and sophomore Paloma Ibarra led the way, each posting rounds of par or better enroute to finish tied for fifth.
Joining Boczar and Ibarra in the lineup are Sophia Ellestad, Yurang Li and Malena Castro, each of whom has made significant contributions throughout the fall season. Ellestad and Li both earned top-10 finishes in Knoxville, while Castro recorded a top-15 finish at the Schooner Fall Classic in Oklahoma.
The nine-team women's field features eight Power Four programs, highlighted by Oregon, a 2025 NCAA Championship semifinalist. Joining the Bears and Ducks are Arizona, Arizona State, Cincinnati, Louisville, Purdue, Tennessee and host Abilene Christian.
The tournament will be contested over 54 holes of stroke play at Halbert National, a Tom Fazio-designed course that opened in 2025. The par-72 course, located along Lake Granbury, will host its first Abilene Christian Intercollegiate as part of a multi-year partnership between Abilene Christian Athletics, Golf Channel and HNS Sports Group.
For Baylor, the tournament presents another opportunity to compete against a strong national field while building momentum heading into the spring season. The Bears have already recorded two podium finishes this fall and will look to close their four-event fall schedule on a high note.
Competition begins Monday, Oct. 19, with one round of stroke play scheduled each day through Wednesday, Oct. 21. Golf Channel will provide coverage of all three rounds from 3-6 p.m. CT, giving fans an opportunity to follow the Bears throughout the tournament. A live scoring will also be available through scoreboard by clippd.
