
SB Falls in Series Finale Against Texas, 6-0

THE RUNDOWN
AUSTIN, Texas – Baylor softball fell to No. 14 Texas, 6-0, Sunday afternoon at Red and Charline McCombs Field in Austin.
The Bears started the third-straight game in a deficit as Texas put up three runs in the bottom of the first.
Emily Hott and Kaci West each reached base in the first on a single and 10-pitch walk, but no runs came across for the Bears.
After a scoreless inning for both teams in the second, McKenzie Wilson singled to right field in the third, and the Longhorns plated two more on an error and a hit.
Texas added another run in the fourth before Aliyah Binford and Sydney Collazos reached on a single and fielder's choice. No runs were plated by the Bears in the top of the inning, then reliever Maren Judisch sat Texas down to close out the fifth.
Both teams went three-up, three-down in the sixth inning, as Judisch struck out two more Longhorns.
The Bears weren't able to capitalize in the top of the seventh, finishing with just three hits in the game.
Next up the Bears will head to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to play in the Big 12 Softball Tournament. Baylor will be seeded 5th and play 4th-seeded Iowa State at noon Thursday in OKC.
