STORY LINES
• Baylor Softball is set to host McNeese State in a three-game series this weekend, with a single game Friday night and a doubleheader Saturday. This is the 34th-36th time these two teams are facing each other. Baylor leads the all-time record 26-7 and the record in Waco 15-2.
• Baylor (13-9) are coming off of a midweek game at Texas State where they won 3-0, while McNeese (11-12) are coming off of a five inning run-rule over Southern on Wednesday.
BEAR SHUTOUTS
• BU picked up its fifth shutout of the season in their midweek contest with Texas State defeating them 3-0.
• Dariana Orme and Aliyah Binford combined for eight strikeouts, four apiece, and issued no walks in the TXST win.
• The Bears only had four total shutouts all last season.
HOT OFFENSE
• Baylor is currently second in the Big 12 in batting average with a .315 team average.
• With two outs, the Bears are averaging .314, proving they can hit in timely situations.
• As a team, Baylor is out-hitting opponents 182-140 this season.
• McKenzie Wilson is still leading the conference in triples with five and is currently batting .420.
• Sydney Collazos and Kaci West are leading the Bears in homeruns with two, while three Bears have five doubles.
• Josie Bower is currently batting 1.000 with the bases loaded. while Taylor Strain leads the Big 12 in sacrifice bunts.
FINDING THE INFIELD
• Head coach Glenn Moore is starting to put together his infield, sticking with most of the same players from first to short for the past five games.
• Campbell Selman had a season-high four assists and two putouts against No. 1 Oklahoma this past week.
• At first base, Rhein Trochim had a career-high seven putouts against Cal in the Hawaii tournament.
RAINBOW WAHINE CLASSIC
• Emily Hott led the offensive charge in Hawaii, going 5-for-11 at the plate with a double, a triple and four RBI on a .727 slugging percentage.
• Defensively, Trochim led the charge with 17 total putouts, followed by Kendall Cross and Zadie LaValley with 11 each. The Bears turned two double plays in the tournament.
