
SB Faces Texas State in Midweek Contest

Bears will travel to San Marcos to face the Bobcats
STORY LINES
• Baylor Softball is scheduled for a midweek tilt with Texas State on the road in San Marcos, Wednesday, March 15. This will be the first of two meeting between these two teams this season as they are set for a matchup at Getterman Stadium on April 12.
• The midweek meeting between the Bears and Bobcats marks the 60th meeting between the two teams, with Baylor leading the all-time series 40-19. BU also leads the series in San Marcos 13-8.
• The Bears are coming off of a week in Hawaii as they played Cal, Oklahoma and Hawaii in the Rainbow Wahine Classic. Concluding the week 1-3, Baylor defeating the tournament host Hawaii, before falling to Cal twice and No. 1 ranked Oklahoma. The matchup against OU was a nonconference game.
HOT OFFENSE
• The Bears are currently second in the Big 12 in batting average with a .315 team average.
• BU showing off this past weekend, BU proved they can hit with two outs, averaging .324 at the plate when two outs have been recorded.
• As a team, Baylor is out-hitting opponents 177-136 this season.
• McKenzie Wilson is still leading the conference in triples with five and is currently batting .420.
• Sydney Collazos is leading the Bears in homeruns with two and doubles with five.
• Zadie LaValley hit her first double of the season against Cal at the Rainbow Wahine Classic.
FINDING THE INFIELD
• Head coach Glenn Moore is starting to put together his infield, sticking with most of the same players from first to short for the past five games.
• Campbell Selman had a season-high four assists and two putouts against No. 1 Oklahoma this past week.
• At first base, Rhein Trochim had a career-high seven putouts against Cal in the Hawaii tournament.
RAINBOW WAHINE CLASSIC
• Emily Hott led the offensive charge in Hawaii, going 5-for-11 at the plate with a double, a triple and four RBI on a .727 slugging percentage.
• Defensively, Trochim led the charge with 17 total putouts, followed by Kendall Cross and Zadie LaValley with 11 each. The Bears turned two double plays in the tournament.
• Dariana Orme and Aliyah Binford each had eight strikeouts on the week.
