WACO, Texas - No. 19 Baylor softball (31-7) is set for a single-game midweek set, facing Lamar (21-13) on Tues., April 5, at 4:00 p.m. at Getterman Stadium.

Tuesday's game will be the 10th meeting between the two squads, with Baylor remaining undefeated over the previous nine meetings.

The Lady Bears and Cardinals meet for the first time since 2014, when Baylor would take a 6-1 victory over Lamar in Waco.

The offense was highlighted by Linsey Hays, launching a two-run shot in the second inning to help BU jump to an early lead.

Liz Paul started for Baylor in the circle, earning the victory, with Heather Stearns picking up the save.

For Lamar, the Cardinals have won six of the last eight contests, including a conference series win over Northwestern State, taking two out of three.

After trading runs of 11-straight wins, followed by nine-straight losses, Lamar has found some consistency, winning going 11-4 over the last 15 games.

Facing Northwestern State, the Cardinals split the first two games with the Lady Demons before winning the rubbermatch to take the series.

For Baylor, The Lady Bears are coming off a record-breaking weekend, posting 50 runs over a three-game series with Iowa State, the most runs posted in a season series against a single opponent in program history.

Over the last 10 games, Sarah Smith's continued dominance at the plate and the emergence of Kyla Walker's offensive threat have lifted the Lady Bears to a 9-1 record, including a win over No. 4 Louisiana-Lafayette and a 5-0 start to Big 12.

FOX College Sports will be broadcasting the game, with John Morris handling play-by-play and Kaitlyn Thumann providing color commentary.
