WACO, Texas - The No. 16 Baylor softball team shutout Sam Houston State 1-0 Wednesday at Getterman Stadium behind a three-hit shutout from freshman
Kendall Potts. The second game of the doubleheader was rained out in progress.
Potts allowed just three hits, walked one and struck out four to improve to 6-4 on the season.
Kaitlyn Thumann stole third base and advanced home on a throwing error by the catcher on the play to score Baylor's only run in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Ari Hawkins and
Robin Landrith had two hits apiece in the win while Thumann broke into the top 10 all-time on Baylor's career list for hits with her 207th in the fifth on a single.
