Sept. 11, 2014 WACO, Texas - Baylor University's softball program will see an alumni and current associate head coach Mark Lumley inducted into the Flowing Wells Athletics Hall of Fame in Tuscon, Arizona this weekend.
Former all-American Ashley Monceaux will join Lumley as a 2014 inductee where Lumley coached softball, and she played.
At Baylor, Monceaux was 2007 AFCA All-American and is the Bears' single-season record holder for most home runs in a season (20, 2007). Lumley has been an assistant on Baylor's staff since 2001, and he was promoted to associate head coach in 2006.
Lumley and Monceaux were both a part of Baylor's first-ever Women's College World Series appearance in 2007, and Lumley has helped guide the Bears to two additional WCWS appearances in 2011 and 2014.
Lumley coached in the Flowing Wells School District from 1985 to 1998, coaching basketball, football and softball. He helped the softball team to two state runner-up finishes in 1993 and 1997. During his time at Flowing Wells, he was named the Arizona Daily Star Coach of the Year and the Arizona Coaches Association Coach of the Year.
Monceaux played three varsity sports at Flowing Wells High School with two letters in volleyball, three in basketball, and she was a four-year starter in softball. She was an all-state performer in both basketball and softball.
