WACO, Texas - Kayce Walker delivered an RBI-single with two outs in the bottom of the 11th to give the No. 15 Baylor softball team (19-5) a 2-1 win over North Texas (8-14) Wednesday night at Getterman Stadium. The victory marked the fifth in a row for the Lady Bears, who moved to 15-2 at home this season.

Courtney Repka (8-2) came on in relief of starter Liz Paul with two outs in the second and worked 9.1 innings of shutout ball, allowing just two hits, four walks and striking our three.

"I cannot say enough about how proud I am of Courtney Repka's performance," head coach Glenn Moore said. "She kept us in that ballgame and I am happy that despite our frustrations offensively, we didn't let that affect our defense."

Baylor outhit North Texas 10-3 on the evening, as four Lady Bears (Walker, Clare Hosack, Holly Holl and Jordan Strickland) collected two hits apiece.

With the score tied at 1-1 in the 11th, Holl led off the inning with a single to left and reached second on a sac bunt from Strickland. With two away, Brittany Simmons threw a wild pitch that put Holl on third, and Walker hitting a chopping grounder to short that she beat out for the game-winning RBI.

North Texas took the early lead in the second, loading the bases on a single and a pair of walks. With two outs in the inning, Paul walked pinch hitter Jackie Miller to score Jordan Terry for the 1-0 UNT advantage.

The Lady Bears, who stranded 11 runners in the game, were kept scoreless until Kelsi Kettler started a two-out rally in the sixth with a single to right followed by a Hosack single to shortstop. Sydney Wilson then delivered a single through the left side and Kettler slid under the tag at home to tie the game at one.

Repka worked out of a jam in the eighth, as a two-out intentional walk and four-pitch walk loaded the bases before Caitlin Grimes flew out to center to end the threat.

Baylor nearly ended the game in the bottom half, loading the bases with two outs on a dropped toss from short to second that would have resulted in the final out. That gave BU another chance, but Simons got pinch hitter Sarah Crockett to strike out, ending the inning.

The Lady Bears victory over North Texas moved their record to 3-0 against the Mean Green this season.

Baylor will be back in action on Friday hosting Buffalo at 12:30 p.m. and Liberty at 5:30 p.m. at Getterman Stadium.
