Recap | Box Score

Head Coach Steve Smith

On the game:
"I didn't think we played very well, either defensively or on the bases. Offensively, I thought we were OK. You have got to give them (Oklahoma State) some credit on the pitching side, particularly the guy that came in. He threw strikes with a lot of movement, a little different look. For us the game was lost on the defensive side and base running."

On Logan Verrett's performance:
"I thought Logan was really sharp and even in the inning where they scored, he should have been out of that inning long before I had to go out there and get him. We just didn't play very well behind him."

On the play of team with Logan Verrett pitching well:
"I feel like we were just sleep-walking, because Logan was carving them up so well. Even the handful of plays that we needed to make we couldn't throw a ball in the air to first base."

Junior Pitcher Logan Verrett

On his performance:
"Everything was working pretty well for me early on. Ludy and I were mixing up what we were calling pretty well to keep them off-balance. My fastball command was good. I just felt like command of every pitch was pretty good and we made the routine plays behind me. Even in that fifth inning, I obviously had a couple batters there where I was over throwing a little, but I felt like I made some pretty good pitches. Whether it was a bloop-single into right field that hits off our glove or whatever it was, I feel like I was still making good pitches. It is tough when you are out there and you have to throw more pitches than you should."

On having a no-hitter through six innings:
"I don't think anybody even knew. Everything was normal in the dugout. The interaction was normal. We weren't superstitious or anything."

Junior Joey Hainsfurther

On the offense:
"In the past few games I feel like our hitters have really been clicking and really taking some good at-bats. That was the case early on in this game. Then I feel like we went back a few weeks in our season and we were just giving pitchers outs and not taking good at-bats when we needed too. And yeah, we had quite a few hits, but a lot of them weren't when we needed to. We had runners in scoring position a whole lot and we had a lot of opportunities to score runs and just weren't able to come through with not just hits, but good at-bats. It felt like we were just giving up at the plate and not really trying to put a good swing on a good pitch."

On if the team can bounce back from the loss:
"It it was really positive to see us comeback and start playing really good baseball at the end of the season when it counts. Once you are in the tournament that is all it takes. If you are playing good baseball it doesn't matter what your record is, it is whether you can put wins together or not. It was frustrating to come out and play the baseball that we did today."
