Baylor (17-2) fell 7-1 to Long Beach State (13-6) on Saturday afternoon at the Campbell/Cartier Classic in San Diego, Calif. The Lady Bears committed five errors and couldn't muster a hit in the loss.
Courtney Repka (6-1) took the loss after allowing 10 hits, seven runs, five earned, three walks and two strikeouts.
Long Beach State struck first, as a home run from Karli Sandoval put the 49ers ahead 1-0.
Baylor tied the game in the third, as KJ Freeland reached on the throwing error by the third baseman. Freeland stole second to reach scoring position, and with two outs, came in to score when Kathy Shelton reached on error by the second baseman, allowing Freeland to score.
Long Beach State added a run in the sixth, as Carrasco ripped an RBI-double to left for a 2-1 lead.
The 49ers busted the game open in the seventh with a five-run, five-hit that put the game away.
Baylor will take on No. 23 Fresno State at 11:00 a.m. CT on Sunday morning before facing Cal Poly at 1:30 p.m. CT.
