The Baylor softball team (4-0) remained undefeated, posting a pair of victories on day two of the 10th annual Getterman Classic. The Lady Bears defeated UTSA, 4-3 before putting away McNeese State, 9-1 in the semifinal game.

GAME ONE
Baylor 4, UTSA 3

Liz Paul (1-0) picked up her first career win going 5.2 innings, allowing three hits, three runs, two walks and three strikeouts. Courtney Repka came on to earn her first save of the season.

Shelbi Redfearn and Holly Holl notched two hits apiece to lead the Baylor offense.

The Lady Bears took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second when Redfearn led off with a single and advanced to third on a Holl double. Two batters later, Redfearn scored on a passed ball, and Kelsi Kettler drove in Holl with a single to right, which was bobbled by the right fielder allowing Wilson to come home for a three-run lead.

Paul retired the first 10 batters she faced before allowing a one-out double in the top of the fourth. After advancing to third on a wild pitch, Ashley Kappler scored on another wild pitch to make it 3-1.

Baylor extended its lead in the fifth when Dani Leal stole third and advanced home on an errant throw from the catcher, making it a 4-1 advantage.

UTSA battled back with two runs in the sixth, each with two outs. An RBI-double from Molly Fitchner brought Repka out of the bullpen and Danye Holmes singled through the right side to pull the Roadrunners within one, but Repka shut the door for the save.

GAME TWO
Baylor 8, McNeese State 1

Dani Leal blasted her third home run of the season and Repka struck out six in six innings of work to guide Baylor to the easy, 8-1 victory.

The Lady Bears jumped out to a five-run lead in the third and never looked back. Kayce Walker roped a one-out triple to the left center gap and came around to score on the next play, when Kathey Shelton doubled. With Shelton and Turk aboard, Leal blasted a three-run shot to left for a 4-0 lead. With two outs, Holl got in a rundown between first and second, allowing Redfearn to cross safely for the fifth run of the inning, before being tagged.

Leading 5-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Clare Hosack laced a double down the left-field line, scoring Jordan Vannatta and Redfearn. Shelton added her second RBI with an infield single, scoring Hosack for the 8-1 lead.

Repka (2-0) went 6.0 innings, allowing five hits, one run, one walk and six strikeouts.

Baylor will play in the championship game at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. The game can be heard live on 1660 ESPN with pregame beginning at 11:15.
