April 2, 2010
COLUMBIA, Mo. - Baylor baseball's series opener at Missouri has been postponed due to rain in the Columbia area.
The Bears (13-9, 1-3 Big 12) and Tigers (14-9, 1-2 Big 12) will play a doubleheader at 2 p.m. Saturday, with the second game starting 45 minutes after the completion of game one. Sunday's series finale is scheduled for 1 p.m.
Baylor will be looking for its first road win since April 17 of last season when it knocked off Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla. The Bears ended the 2009 season with seven straight losses on the road, and Baylor lost its only road game of the 2010 season at Oklahoma.
Junior right-handed pitcher Shawn Tolleson (1-3, 4.78 ERA) is expected to start game one for Baylor, and Missouri plans to counter with junior right hander Nick Tepesch (2-1, 4.99). Logan Verrett (2-2, 4.45) will start opposite Eric Anderson (1-1, 3.12) in the second game of the doubleheader, and neither team has announced a Sunday starter.
