Baylor looks to win its first road game of the 2010 season when it travels to Columbia, Mo. for a three-game set with the Missouri Tigers. Friday's game is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST, with Saturday's game at 2 p.m. and Sunday's finale at 1 p.m.

Missouri is 9-2 at Taylor Stadium this season, and the Tigers have held opponents to six runs or fewer in all but one of those games. Since winning eight of nine games, the Tigers have dropped three of their last five games. MU opened Big 12 play at Texas A&M last weekend and dropped the first two games before salvaging the finale. The Tigers returned home and knocked off Purdue on Tuesday, but the Boilermakers got their revenge with a 6-3 win on Wednesday.

The Bears haven't played since dropping the series finale to Kansas, 12-6, in 14 innings on Sunday. That game was Baylor's longest since playing 14 innings against Nebraska on May 24, 2003.

Baylor has dropped eight straight road games dating back to a loss at Oklahoma State on April 18 of last season. The last time the Bears won a Big 12 series was when they took the final two games of of three-game set with Missouri April 10-11, 2009 at Baylor Ballpark. The Bears' last Big 12 Conference road series win was April 3-5, 2009 at Kansas.

Baylor and Missouri have met 50 times and the Bears hold a 27-23 advantage in the all-time series. Missouri leads the series 10-8 in games played on its home field, while the Bears lead 13-10 in games played in Waco. Baylor also leads 6-3 in neutral site meetings and 25-23 in the Steve Smith era. The Bears rebounded from dropping the opener to take the series, two games to one, in Waco last season. Dustin Dickerson's bases-loaded, walk-off single in the bottom of the 11th gave seventh-ranked Baylor an 8-7 victory over Missouri in the first game of a doubleheader at Baylor Ballpark. Willie Kempf tossed a two-hit shutout with a career-high 12 strikeouts as the Bears rolled to a 19-0, seven-inning victory in the nightcap to sweep the doubleheader. Baylor (23-10, 9-6) won the series two games to one, snapping a four-series losing streak against Missouri (17-19, 6-9).

Baylor's victory in the first game was its seventh last-at-bat win of the season. The Bears also pushed their record in one-run games to 11-1 with their 10th consecutive victory in such games. Baylor improved to 4-0 this season in extra-inning games. Baylor's 19-run victory in the nightcap was the Bears' largest margin of victory ever in a Big 12 game. The Bears earned their first series win over Missouri since 2004 and their first against the Tigers in Waco since 2001.

Missouri built an early 5-1 lead in the first game, but Shaver Hansen's three-run homer in the bottom of the third pulled the Bears back into the game. Landis Ware's RBI double in the bottom of the fourth tied the game at 5-5, and Raynor Campbell gave the Bears a 7-5 lead with a two-run homer in the sixth. The Tigers tied the game in the top of the eighth thanks to three consecutive singles and a wild pitch. Greg Folgia plated both runs, singling through the left side with runners at second and third.

Josh Ludy walked to open the 11th inning and was safe at second on Ware's fielder's choice sacrifice bunt. Brooks Pinckard then reached on a bunt single to load the bases. Dickerson followed with the game-winning hit, lining a single over Folgia's head in left.

Aaron Miller (3-0) earned the victory for the Bears, allowing two runs on seven hits and no walks with 10 strikeouts over 8.0 relief innings. Miller tied a single-game school record for strikeouts in relief; it was the third time in the last 12 months that a Baylor pitcher recorded 10 strikeouts in relief in a game.

Starter Logan Verrett surrendered five runs - four earned - on seven hits and four walks with three strikeouts over 3.0-plus innings. Miller spelled Verrett with runners at first and second and no outs in the fourth; Miller stranded both runners with a fielder's choice and an inning-ending double play.

Brad Buehler (1-2) took the loss for Missouri. Buehler, who was the last of eight Tiger pitchers to toe the rubber in the first game, allowed one run on two hits and a walk with one strikeout.

Pinckard had three hits in the opener, while Ware and Adam Hornung each had two hits. Hansen had four RBI. Dickerson's 11th-inning single was his only hit in the opener, keeping his career-long hitting streak intact.

Baylor optioned for a less dramatic victory in the nightcap, pounding 17 hits and making use of three big innings. The Bears sent 10 batters to the plate in a six-run first and never looked back. Pinckard walked to open the inning, and Dickerson followed with an RBI double. That pushed Dickerson's hitting streak to 19 games, the longest in the Big 12 this season and tied for the seventh-longest in Baylor history. Dickerson also has hit safely in 14 consecutive Big 12 games and 20 of 21 league games dating back to last season.

After adding a run in the second, the Bears put the game nearly out of reach with a six-run fourth. Dickerson started the scoring with a one-out solo homer, and Baylor batted around for the second time in the game. Raynor Campbell capped the frame with a two-run triple to left and scored when Folgia misplayed the ball on the warning track.

The Bears tacked on a four-run fifth, and Hansen capped the scoring with a two-run homer in the sixth. It was Hansen's 13th round-tripper of the season, the most by a Baylor player since Josh Ford had 14 homers in 2004. It also was Hansen's ninth this season while playing shortstop, tying Beamer Weems' 2007 single-season Baylor record for home runs by a shortstop.

Kempf (4-1) allowed only two base runners - a leadoff single in the first and a one-out single in the fourth. It was Kempf's first career complete game and Baylor's first shutout since Shawn Tolleson's in the Kansas State series finale last season. Kempf's 12 strikeouts were five more than his previous career high, which he established against Kansas State as a freshman in 2007. He struck out the last two batters he faced looking.

Dickerson finished the second game 4-for-4 with four runs scored and two RBI; he was a triple shy of the cycle. Hansen was 3-for-4 with four runs and two RBI, while Miller was 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Hornung, Campbell, Ware and Brooks Kimmey all had two-hit nights. Kimmey and Campbell produced four RBI each.
