No. 15 Oklahoma State (28-7, 1-0) used a five-run sixth inning to come back and defeat No. 23 Baylor (19-9, 0-1) 7-4 in the conference opener, Saturday afternoon at Cowgirl Stadium. All seven Cowgirl runs were scored with two outs.

"I was really proud of Courtney Repka this afternoon," head coach Glenn Moore said. "Give credit to Oklahoma State for making a couple big plays, but we came out ready and played well enough to win today."

Courtney Repka (12-5) took the loss, allowing 10 hits, seven runs, three walks and fanning four.

Jordan Vannatta and Kayce Walker each recorded two hits, while Vannatta led the way with two RBI.

Oklahoma State took the first lead of the game in the bottom of the second, as Amy Graham hit a one-out single up the middle and advanced to second on a passed ball. With two outs and two strikes, Kelsey Anchors hit a pop foul that landed between three Lady Bears, and on the next pitch, she knocked a two-run homer to right center for the 2-0 advantage.

The Lady Bears answered back and evened the game in the top of the third with two runs on three hits. KJ €ˆFreeland sent a a bunt down the third base line and then stole second to reach scoring position. With two outs, Nicole Wesley hit a chopper to the pitcher and beat the throw to first to put runners at the corners. Jordan Vannatta then took a two-out, two-strike pitch to right center for a two-RBI double, making it 2-2.

Baylor got out of a bases loaded jam in the fourth, as Bree Hanafin made a great diving play to her right and beat the runner, Alysia Hamilton, to first by lunging her glove at bag just in the nick of time.

Leal gave BU its first lead, as she led off the inning with a solo blast to left center for her team-leading seventh home run of the year.

Baylor added to its lead in the sixth, as Vannatta led off the inning with a single, followed by a Courtney Nieten single that advanced pinch runner, Kathy Shelton to second. Bree Hanafin then stepped up and hit a ball to dead center that was caught at the wall, but Shelton tagged and scored from second, making it 4-2.

Oklahoma State used a five-run inning, all with two outs, that included a two-RBI single by Hamilton and a three-run home run from Tamara Brown to leap ahead of Baylor, 7-4. The Lady Bears went in order in the seventh.

Baylor will wrap up the series with the Cowgirls on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Fans can listen live for free or follow along with live stats on baylorbears.com.
