Coach Steve Smith
On the game
"Well, I got a good outing from Trent Blank, who started the game. He threw the ball very well. I thought (Craig) Fritsch threw the ball as well as he has thrown it all year. I thought Kevin Winter came in and got two lefthanders out. (I) Thought (Joey) Hainsfurther threw the ball very, very well."
On the confidence of his club
"I am not worried about our confidence. I just think it is important to always play the game well. The parts of the game that we didn't play well, early in the game: we weren't putting the ball in play, we had too many strikeouts first time through the order and there is not really a good explanation for that. I am sure their guy was throwing fair, but we got to be able to put the ball in play and we got to make the routine plays defensively. You play the game way more than you play the opponent. The story will read tomorrow that we were beaten by Texas State, there is some truth to that, but we were really beaten by the game itself. Tomorrow when we play the game, it won't matter if we are playing Prairie View or who we are playing; we need to play the game well. If you do that you are going to win."
Senior Adam Hornung
On the game
"I thought we kind of came out a little flat, after the big win we got on Sunday. We had a day off and came out and we definitely weren't on top of our game from the start to the end. We struck out way too much and booted the ball in the field. You don't win when you do that."
On the importance of rebounding from the loss
"We need to bounce back and beat a team we should beat tomorrow in Prairie View (A&M). I mean not taking anything away from them, but we are a better ball club than they are and we need to come out and play like it. Because we got a big weekend of conference ahead of us on the road and we need to get some momentum going into that."
