· Thursday saw record-breaking attendance at the Women's College World Series. The second session drew a crowd of 6,812, marking the second-highest Session 2 attendance in WCWS history (The 2000 games between Oklahoma and California and Southern Mississippi and Arizona drew 6,856 fans). It also ranked as the fifth largest crowd to ever see a WCWS session. The total attendance for the day (Sessions 1 and 2) of 12,107 was the highest first-day figure in the event's history. · Arizona's fourth-inning run snapped a 21.1-inning scoreless streak by Baylor pitcher Lisa Ferguson.

· Ferguson's seventh-inning strikeout of Arizona's Laine Roth gave the senior 600 career K's. Ferguson struck out seven in the game and stands third on Baylor's career list with 602.

· The Wildcats' Kristie Fox walked with one out in the sixth inning, ending Ferguson's streak of 23 innings without surrendering a base on balls.

· Arizona catcher Arizona catcher Callista Balko surrendered three passed balls against the Lady Bears. Coming into the game Balko had given up just three passed balls all season.

· Taryne Mowatt's second-inning strikeout of Baylor's Chelsi Lake moved her into second place on Arizona's single season list with 447 K's. She fanned 15 in the game, giving her a 2007 strikeout total of 461.

· The Wildcats came into the game with an 8-6 mark over this years' WCWS teams in 2007. The only team Arizona did not hold a winning record against was Baylor. The `Cats were 1-2 versus the Lady Bears this season.
