WACO, Texas --- The No. 9 Baylor (39-9) softball team returns to action this week on Tuesday, April 17, at 5:00 p.m. as the Lady Bears step out of Big 12 Conference play to face North Texas in a single contest at Lovelace Stadium.
Baylor enters the single game riding a 13-game winning streak, one game shy of tying the school mark of 14 straight wins set during the 2004 season. During the streak, the Baylor offense has hit at an impressive .324 clip while the pitching staff has been dominant in the circle, posting a perfect 13-0 record and 1.75 ERA while holding opponents to a .204 average.
Ashley Monceaux continues to lead the way for the Lady Bears as the senior currently leads the team with a .416 average, 13 home runs and 50 RBI. Baylor third baseman Brette Reagan has caught fire as of late as well as the sophomore is hitting .369 on the season with seven home runs and 36 RBI.
Any one of four pitchers could get the nod against the Mean Green; but, Lisa Ferguson continues to lead the Lady Bears in the circle, posting an 18-4 record and 1.84 ERA on the year.
North Texas enters the single game with a record of 17-29 after dropping two-of-three to Troy last weekend. The Mean Green own a 10-8 record at home this season and are led by Susan Waters, who leads the team with a .372 average, 13 home runs and 32 RBI on the year.
Ashley Lail paces the Mean Green in the circle and has posted a 10-12 record with 2.99 ERA in 161.1 innings of work on the season.
Baylor has won nine-straight in the series and owns an 18-3 record all-time against North Texas. The Lady Bears claimed a 7-3 win when the teams met last season in Waco.

Following the contest against the Mean Green, Baylor will return to action on Wednesday, April 18, when the Lady Bears travel to Norman, Okla., for a crucial doubleheader with Oklahoma beginning at 5:00 p.m.
