WACO, Texas - The Baylor softball team opens its fall season on Friday, Oct. 6, at 2:00 p.m. against Temple CC before a 4:00 p.m. contest against Oklahoma City as the Lady Bears open play at the 2006 Baylor Fall Tournament. The Lady Bears will continue play on Saturday, Oct. 7, against Seminole JC (11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.) and McLennan CC (5:00 p.m.).

The Baylor softball team returns eight players from last year's squad, including NFCA All-Americans Chelsi Lake and Brette Reagan, that finished 38-22 and advanced to the NCAA Corvallis Regional final.

In addition, the Lady Bears welcome eight newcomers to this season's squad as Baylor has one of the most highly touted newcomer classes in the country heading into the 2007 season.

The tournament also includes games at McLennan Community College; however, all Baylor games will be played at Getterman Stadium.
