No. 20 VB Set for Home Opener Against North Texas

BU enters having won 23 of the last 24 against the Mean Green
WACO, Texas – Baylor volleyball returns to the Ferrell Center for the first time in 2026, opening a 13-match home schedule Thursday night against North Texas at 7 p.m.
Thursday's contest marks the 31st all-time meeting between Baylor and North Texas, with the Bears holding a 22-8 advantage in the series. Baylor has won seven straight against the Mean Green and 23 of the last 24 meetings after North Texas opened the series with seven consecutive victories.
The Bears enter their home opener riding the momentum of a perfect 3-0 start at the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Volleyball Classic. Ksenia Rakhmanchik was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player after leading the Bears with 51 kills, while Tori Davis and Morgan Madison joined her on the All-Tournament Team. Isabela Haggard led the Bears with 89 assists and added 41 digs, recording two double-doubles along the way.
Up to No. 20 in the AVCA rankings this week, Haggard wants to see her team continue to build on what they did in Hawaii.
"We just want to take it one game at a time," the Marquette transfer said. "I think that we have a really strong schedule ahead of us, which will help us to get to where we want to be, but we started at 21, now we're at 20, and that's great, but I don't think we're settled. I don't think we'll stop striving for the next one until we're at the top. I think we will just keep working."
Baylor owns a 22-8 record against North Texas, including victories in seven-straight meetings and 23 of the last 24 matchups. The Mean Green actually opened the all-time series with seven-consecutive victories before Baylor flipped the script and established its recent dominance.
The Bears have also found plenty of success against fellow in-state opponents during the Ryan McGuyre era, compiling a 71-35 record against teams from Texas since McGuyre took the reins of the program.
