Katie Smith serves the Athletic Department as the Assistant AD of Business Operations, promoted to that role in 2023.
Prior to that, Smith served as the Director of Business Operations from 2021-23 after starting her career with Baylor as an Associate Director of Business Operations in 2018.
Smith’s primary duties include budgetary oversight of several departments including three sport programs. She also serves as a Women’s Tennis Sports Program Administrator and a staff liaison to our department travel agency, Anthony Travel.
Smith can also be heard weekly on the Sic ’Em Podcast, which she co-hosts with the voice of the Bears, John Morris.
A former All-American Volleyball player at BU in 2016, Smith earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business from Baylor in 2016, and a Master of Business Administration in 2018.
A native of Plano, Texas, Smith and her husband Chase have one daughter named Kennedy.
