
WBB’s Van Gytenbeek Named Academic All-District

WACO, Texas – Baylor women's basketball guard Jana Van Gytenbeek has been named to the Academic All-District® Team, CSC announced Tuesday morning.
The Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Van Gytenbeek boasts a 3.63 cumulative GPA in Baylor's sports management graduate program after graduating cum laude with a communication degree in spring 2024.
The sixth-year Bear finished the season with the nation's ninth-most assists, 14th-most assists per game and the 31st-best assist-to-turnover ratio. Her 200 assists mark just the seventh time in program history the 200-assist milestone has been reached and are the seventh-most in a single season.
The Greenwood Village, Colo., native averaged 32.0 minutes a game after starting every contest this season. She shot 35.9% from the floor, 35.5% from beyond the arc and averaged 7.4 points per game.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on April 15.
