Bears look to continue streak after being 4-1
FORT WORTH, Texas – No. 19 Baylor men's tennis returns to action against the No. 5 TCU Horned Frogs Thursday night at 5:30 p.m. CT at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
No. 19 Baylor (4-1) enters the matchup confident after victory over Tulsa on Friday, making that their fourth win in a row. The Bears led early by winning the doubles point and went on to clinch only having to win three singles matches and ending the matchup 4-0. In singles, Connor Van Schalkwyk, Alexandru Chirita, and Louis Bowden all picked up key straight-set singles wins to help the Bears clinch and take the win.
The Bears have captured the doubles point in all but one match this season to take the early advantage.
No. 5 TCU (5-1), like BU, is on a four-match winning streak coming off of the win over SMU, 4-1.
The Horned Frogs hold five ranked singles players based on ITA's final fall rankings, with Duncan Chan leading at No. 6. In doubles, two duos hold rankings in the top-25 with Albert Pedrico Kravtsov and Cosme Rolland De Ravel at No. 9.
Baylor trails in the all-time record, 45-31, and looks to snap its nine-match losing streak against the Frogs. The last time Baylor won in Fort Worth was April 24, 2022, where the Bears took down No. 1 TCU 4-2.
