Fontleroy earns second early mention, joined with Preseason All-Big 12 team honors
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Baylor women's basketball senior Bella Fontleroy has been named to the 2025-26 Preseason Watch List for the Cheryl Miller Small Forward of the Year Award, as announced by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame on Wednesday.
The Cheryl Miller Award recognizes the top small forwards in women's college basketball every year. The senior is listed among the top 20 in the country after being named top five at the conclusion of last season.
The Springfield, Mo., native started all 36 games last season and enters 2025-26 with 944 career points and 547 rebounds. She recorded a career-high 29 points, including a career-best seven 3-pointers, in a 98-59 win over Cincinnati last February.
Fontleroy was a unanimous pick for the Big 12 All-Freshman Team in 2023 and earned a spot on the All-Big 12 Defensive Team following the 2024-25 season.
An updated top 10 list for the Cheryl Miller Award will be released in January, with the final five narrowed in late March. Throughout the season, the list will be fluid, and players will have the ability to play themselves on or off the list until the five finalists are selected.
The 2025-26 season officially tips off at Adidas Arena in Paris, France, where the Bears face No. 7 Duke at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3. The matchup will be the first televised game of the season and the first ranked-versus-ranked contest in the NCAA.
Baylor women's basketball is presented by Central National Bank, a family-owned, independent bank headquartered in Waco, Texas, that provides uniquely personal service while simultaneously embracing the latest developments in banking technology.
