The Bears will face Ole Miss, No. 18 Florida at Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center
WACO, Texas - The Baylor women's tennis team returns to action this weekend for matches against Ole Miss and No. 18 Florida.
The Bears (5-1) will host Ole Miss (3-0) at noon on Friday inside the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center, before finishing the weekend with a matchup against the nationally-ranked Gators (2-1) at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
"We have had a great week of preparation and we're excited to get back out there and compete in front of the Baylor family," head coach Joey Scrivano said. "We have had some really great battles with Ole Miss and Florida, and these types of non-conference matches help set us up for an always tough Big 12 slate."
In singles, sophomore Anita Sahdiieva looks to protect her undefeated 4-0 record, while freshman Danielle Tuhten boasts a team-high five wins with just one loss going into the weekend.
The duo of senior Paula Barañano and freshman Daniella Dimitrov will seek their fourth win of the year in doubles action after starting off the season a perfect 3-0.
Admission to the matches is free, and a live video stream and live stats are available for fans to follow the action. Friday's match will have free Tiffs Treats for fans, while supplies last, while Sunday's contest is highlighted by Cub Tennis, a free instructional clinic for kids, beginning at noon.
