Baylor WT Signs Gao Duanrui

WACO, Texas – Baylor women's tennis head coach Joey Scrivano announced Tuesday the signing of Gao Duanrui to the 2026-27 roster.
"We're excited to welcome Gao to Baylor," said Scrivano. "She's a hardworking athlete with great mental toughness and a real passion for improving. She a good athlete, and I truly believe she's only scratching the surface of what she can become as a tennis player."
Duanrui arrives in Waco with career-high WTA rankings of No. 1,186 in singles and No. 1,435 in doubles.
The Tianjin, China, native has posted 52 career singles wins on the pro tour, including main draw victories at the 2026 M15 Tianjin and the 2025 W15 Luan and W15 Maanshan.
In doubles, Gao has reached the quarterfinals five times: once at the 2026 W15 Tianjin, three times across separate 2025 W15 Luan draws and once at the 2025 W15 Maanshan.
Baylor finished the 2025 season ranked No. 34 in the ITA Year-End team rankings, a year that included the program's 27th NCAA Tournament appearance, 19th trip to the second round, four All-Big 12 selections, three ranked victories and two qualifiers to the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships in the fall.
