No. 23 WT Heads to Austin for ITA National Kickoff Weekend

WACO, Texas – The No. 23-ranked Baylor women's tennis team heads to Austin Saturday to face No. 20 Arizona State in the opening round of the ITA National Kickoff Weekend at the Texas Tennis Center. The Bears will square off against the Sun Devils at 9 a.m. and the winner will play the victor of No. 3 Texas and Iowa Sunday at Noon.

Eight sites are hosting four teams for the ITA Kickoff Weekend, and the site-champions of the respective four-team brackets will advance to the ITA Indoor National Tournament in Stillwater, Okla. beginning Feb. 5.

Regardless of Saturday's outcome, Baylor will have two matches this weekend as a consolation match between the losers takes place Sunday at Noon as well.

Baylor is 3-0 on the season with a pair of wins over Prairie View A&M and one over Rice. The Bears are 18-0 on the singles court through three matches and 8-1 in doubles.

Saturday will mark the first time that Arizona State and Baylor have played against one another. In the Joey Scrivano era, Baylor is 2-0 vs. Iowa and 19-10 vs. Texas.
