Kaur and Vesga both earn fifth career top-10 finishes

OPELIKA, Ala. – Baylor women's golf finished tied for eighth place with a 54-hole total of 29-over-par 893 in the 2019 Evans Derby Experience. The Bears carded 15-over 299 in Monday's final round at Saugahatchee Country Club.
All seven teams that finished ahead of Baylor are top-14 ranked nationally. The No. 39-ranked Bears (+29) trailed only No. 11 Florida State (+6), No. 3 Duke (+10), No. 2 Texas (+10), No. 8 Arkansas (+10), No. 7 Florida (+16), No. 14 Kent State (+21) and No. 13 Auburn (+25). BU tied No. 9 South Carolina (+29) and finished ahead of No. 45 Mississippi State (+37), No. 41 Ole Miss (+37), No. 32 Clemson (+41), No. 18 Alabama (+43) and No. 36 Louisville (+48).
Baylor's Gurleen Kaur and Maria Vesga finished tied for eighth place individually at 1-over 217. Both Kaur and Vesga earned their fifth career top-10 finishes, with Vesga posting a final round of 2-under 70 and Kaur shooting 1-over 73.
Erica Chiang shot 5-over 77 in the final round to finish tied for 42nd place at 12-over 228, while Emma Bradley posted the Bears' final counting score at 7-over 79 to finish tied for 67th place at 16-over 232. Diane Baillieux took 81st place at 27-over 243, while individual Amelia McKee tied for 48th place at 3-over 75.

- Baylor's 177 pars were fourth-most in the tournament.
- Vesga tied for eighth in par-4 scoring at 2-over 4.07, while Kaur tied for 12th at 3-over 4.10.
- Kaur and Chiang tied for eighth in par-5 scoring at 3-under 4.75.
- Vesga and McKee tied for 11th in par-3 scoring at even-par 3.00, while Kaur and Baillieux tied for 20th at 1-over 3.08.
- Vesga made 42 pars across 54 holes, tied for third-most in the field, while Baillieux tied for 11th with 38 pars.
- Kaur recorded a team-high eight birdies, which tied for 21st in the tournament. She also made one of only six eagles during the three-day event.
