STILLWATER, Okla. ÃÆ' ¢Ãƒ ¢' ¬" Baylor baseball notched a 9-3 win at Oklahoma State in the series opener on Friday evening at Reynolds Stadium. The Bears (30-17, 9-10) received good pitching, hitting and defense to overwhelm the Cowboys (24-22, 6-12).
Baylor cracked the scoreboard first with a two-run third inning. Davis Wendzel led off with a triple and Josh Bissonette reached on an error right after that. Following a steal of second by Bissonette, T.J. Raguse posted a one-out RBI single and Richard Cunningham did the same in the next at-bat.
BU created more separation in the fourth. Matt Menard led off with a double, Aaron Dodson singled, Wendzel reached on a fielder's choice error that scored a run, Bissonette roped an RBI single and Tucker Cascadden hit an RBI infield single for a 5-0 lead.
In the sixth, the Bears put the game away for good with a four-run frame. Wendzel led off by reaching on an error, Bissonette singled and Cascadden singled to load the bases. OSU added a run in the sixth and two in the eighth but it wasn't enough to overcome the 9-0 deficit.
