
EQ Leads Academic All-Big 12 with 17 Selections

WACO, Texas - Baylor equestrian landed 18 combined Academic All-Big 12 selections, including 16 first teamers to lead all three Big 12 teams, announced Tuesday afternoon by the conference office.
The 39-member team featured 31 first team and eight second team selections, with Baylor topping Oklahoma State and TCU with 16 first team honorees and a combined 18 total selections.
Baylor's first team honorees included Ginger Chant, Aspen Crew, Abbi Demel, Alicia Gasser, Shannon Hogue, Hannah Huntington, Alex Ryan, Elizabeth Shank, Taylor Sutton, Kelsie Holman, Samantha Howell, Ingrid Lecot, Karyn Simpson, Claire Uhlman, Kelsey Wolf, and Stephanie Peck.
Savannah Jenkins and Charlotte Green earned second team honors, rounding out BU's 18 selections.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
