EQ’s Lauren Jorgensen Earns Big 12 Flat Rider of the Month

Jorgensen was named Flat Rider of the Month for the second consecutive month
IRVING, Texas – Baylor equestrian Jumping Seat senior Lauren Jorgensen has been named Big 12 Flat Rider of the Month for March, as announced by the conference office Friday afternoon.
Jorgensen picked up honors in Flat after an undefeated 3-0 month, earning one Most Outstanding Performer honor against No. 8 Fresno State on the road. The Albuquerque, N.M. native averaged a high score of 80.44 with a win margin of 5.89 points.
She beat two top-eight opponents, having spreads over opponents of three and 1.66 points, respectively. Jorgensen's MOP three-point win over No. 8 Fresno State helped the Bears win the event, 3-2, and eventually led the Jumping Seat squad to a 6-4 victory. In the Big 12 Championship, Jorgensen earned an 80.33 against No. 6 Oklahoma State's 78.67 to win her point and contribute to a 4-1 event win over the Cowgirls.
In a neutral meet against UT Martin, the senior posted a 13-point win margin of 77-64 that helped contribute to a 4-0 Flat sweep and eventually led to an 8-0 Jumping Seat sweep.
This is Jorgensen's third-career monthly honor, her second consecutive Big 12 Flat Rider of the Month. She closes out the season with an overall 6-3 record in the Flat event and a career record of 14-13 with five career MOP nods.
