WACO, Texas ÃÆ' ¢Ãƒ ¢' ¬" Throughout the summer several Baylor players have been playing in various summer collegiate leagues across the country. The yearly tradition allows players to keep improving their skills in a live-game atmosphere against some of the country's top talent. Below are updates after about a month of play.

Josh Bissonette is playing in the Alaska Baseball League with the first-place Matsu Miners. The shortstop is batting .269 with one home run and seven RBI through 18 games. Another Bear is also playing in the ABL with the Peninsula Oilers. Right-handed pitcher Blake Allen has a 2-2 record in four appearances with a 3.04 ERA and 12 strikeouts.

Right-handed pitchers Troy Montemayor and Drew Robertson are both playing for the Albany Dutchmen in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League. Montemayor has a 1-2 record in nine appearances with a 1.63 ERA, two saves and 13 strikeouts. Robertson has a 1-1 record in seven appearances with a 2.18 ERA and 19 strikeouts.

Outfielder Richard Cunningham is playing in the Coastal Plains League for the Edenton Steamers and has been named an all-star. Cunningham is batting .361 with one homer and 12 RBI in 27 games. He is tied for second in the league in hits with 39.

Outfielder/first baseman Kameron Esthay is playing in the Cape Cod Baseball League with the Hyannis Harbor Hawks. Esthay has one homer and two RBI.

Third baseman Steven McLean is playing in the California Collegiate League with the Menlo Park Legends. In 18 games, McLean is batting .324 with two homers and 12 RBI.
