THE RUNDOWN
SAN ANTONIO, Texas ÃÆ' ¢Ãƒ ¢' ¬" Baylor women's golf shot 2-over-par 290 in Sunday's final round at the 2016 Big 12 Conference Championship at the Dominion Golf Club, climbing two spots to finish in sixth place at 21-over 885.
Laura Lonardi carded the team's best round on Sunday with a 2-under-par 70 to climb 12 spots and finish tied for 17th place at 4-over-par 220. Giovana Maymon had the team's best finish after shooting 1-over 73 in the final round to place 15th individually at 2-over-par 218. Maymon finished 11 strokes back of the tournament's individual champion, Oklahoma State's Kenzie Neisen (-9, 207).
Maggie Beth Byers carded a third-round score of 2-over 74 to tie for 21st place at 6-over-par 222. Maria Vesga climbed five spots to tie for 35th place at 11-over 227 after finishing her final round with a score of 1-over 73. Lauren Whyte (+19, 235) carded a 5-over 77 on the day to finish in 45th place.
Oklahoma State (-8) claimed the title, finishing 11 strokes ahead of Texas (+3). TCU (+9) placed third, followed by Iowa State (+10), Oklahoma (+12), Baylor (+21), Kansas (+23), Kansas State (+24) and Texas Tech (+25).
HIGHLIGHTS
- Baylor led the field in par-5 scoring, finishing at 10-under 4.83.
- The Bears made 181 pars through 54 holes to tie for third-most in the field.
- Maggie Beth Byers tied for second in par-5 scoring at 4-under 4.67.

Baylor is on the bubble for an NCAA Tournament at-large bid. The 2016 NCAA Tournament field will be announced at 5 p.m. CT Monday on Golf Channel. Regionals will be played May 5-7 at four different sites: Stanford, Calif.; Bryan, Texas; Baton Rouge, La. and Shoal Creek, Ala. The 2016 Division I Championship will be played May 20-25 at Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Ore.
