WACO, Texas ÃÆ' ¢Ãƒ ¢' ¬" The Baylor women's golf team is headed to Dallas to play in the fourth-annual Dallas Athletic Club Invitational, hosted by SMU. The two-day, 54-hole event will feature two rounds of play Friday and a final round Saturday on the par-72, 6,159-yard Dallas Athletic Club course.

The tournament will be played on the club's Blue and Gold Courses, both designed by Jack Nicklaus. Most notably, the Blue Course played host to the 1963 PGA Championship.

The Bears enter the DAC Invitational ranked No. 61 nationally in the latest GolfStat rankings and are coming off a fifth-place finish at the Arizona Wildcat Invitational.

Baylor's only previous appearance at the Dallas Athletic Club Invitational was in 2014, when the Bears won the rain-shortened event with a 36-hole score of 15-over-par 591. Hayley Davis finished in second place individually, and Laura Lonardi tied for seventh.

The Bears' lineup features Lonardi, Maria Vesga, Giovana Maymon, Maggie Beth Byers and Natalia Perez. The first round will begin with a shotgun start Friday at 8 a.m. CT, with the second round immediately following completion of the first 18 holes. BU players are paired with golfers from Tulane and TCU. Vesga and Lonardi will begin from the seventh tee, Maymon will tee off from No. 8 and Perez and Byers will begin their rounds on the ninth tee.

The 16-team field includes tournament-host No. 27 SMU, Baylor, Central Arkansas, Florida International, No. 16 Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, New Mexico State, North Texas, No. 10 Oklahoma State, No. 25 Texas Tech, No. 35 TCU, No. 41 Tulane, No. 18 UNLV, UTSA and No. 13 Washington.
