THE RUNDOWN
HUMBLE, Texas ÃÆ' ¢Ãƒ ¢' ¬" Baylor men's golf finished in fourth place at the All-American Intercollegiate with a 54-hole total of 12-over-par 876. The Bears recorded a final-round 4-over 292 on Sunday at Golf Club of Houston to remain in fourth place.
Arkansas (-9) shot 9-under-par 279 final round to claim the tournament title by one stroke over Houston (-8). South Carolina (+4) finished third, followed by Baylor (+12), SMU (+14), Troy (+17), Charleston (+21), UTSA (+26), Louisiana Tech (+27), McNeese State (+28), Charlotte (+39), New Mexico State (+43), Rice (+46), Sam Houston (+46), Northern Illinois (+47) and Houston Baptist (+52).
Junior Hunter Shattuck carded a 3-over 75 on the final day to finish at 1-under-par 215. Shattuck, who was playing as an individual, recorded a career-best finish with a tie for 10th place.
Matthew Perrine shot 3-over 75 in his final round and finished tied for 18th place with a final score of 2-over 218. Frederik Andersen and Braden Bailey tied for 21st place, sharing a total score of 3-over 219. The duo carded final round scores of 1-over73 and 2-under 70, respectively. Andreas Gjesteby went 3-over-par 75 in his final round, totaling his scorecard to 8-over 224 and placing him in a tie for 41st place. Nick Thornton was 2-over 74 on the day and finished at 14-over 230, climbing six spots to tie for 62nd place.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Baylor led the 16-team field in par-3 scoring average at 5-over 3.08.
- The Bears tied for fourth in par-5 scoring at 8-under 4.87 and finished seventh in par-4 scoring at 33-over 4.22.
- Baylor's 185 pars were second-most in the field, one back of South Carolina.
- BU tied for sixth in the 16-team field with 34 birdies.
