WACO, Texas - Throughout the summer several Baylor players have been playing in various summer collegiate leagues across the country. The yearly tradition allows players to keep improving their skills in a live-game atmosphere against some of the country's top talent. Four Bears â '¬" Richard Cunningham, Steven McLean, Troy Montemayor and West Tunnell â '¬" were also named to their league's all-star teams.

Through 35 games, Cunningham, who was named a California Collegiate League All-Star, is batting .308 with 10 RBI for the So Cal Catch. Another member of the Catch, Cameron Miller is batting .217 with three home runs and 11 RBI.

McLean was named to the South roster for the Valley Baseball League All-Star Game. Through 31 games, he's batting .299 with three doubles and seven RBI with the Harrisonburg Turks. Two other Bears are with the Turks as Aaron Dodson is batting .221 with two triples, two home runs and 11 RBI and Kameron Esthay is batting .226 with three doubles and 13 RBI.

Named to the West roster for the New York Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Game, Montemayor is 5-0 with a 1.46 ERA for the Hornell Dodgers.

Tunnell, who was named to the south roster for the West Coast League All-Star Game, is batting .357 with 11 doubles, two triples, five homeruns and 33 RBI for the Bend Elks.

Theron Kay is 3-0 with a 1.80 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 17 appearances with the Neptune Beach Pearl.

Though 28 games, Justin Arrington (Hyannis Harbor Hawks) is batting .190 with two RBI, Darryn Sheppard (Wareham Gatemen) is batting .214, Nick Lewis (Cotuit Kettleers) is 1-1 with a 3.78 ERA and 18 strikeouts in seven appearances and Daniel Castano (Chatham Anglers) is 1-3 with a 3.13 ERA and 17 strikeouts in five appearances in the Cape Cod League.

Jonathan Ducoff is batting .214 with one home run and four RBI for the Holyoke Blue Sox in the New England Collegiate Baseball League.

Rounding out the summer leaguers, Blake Allen is 2-1 with a 2.70 ERA for the Albany Dutchmen, Joe Sabatini is batting .279 with two homeruns and 12 RBI for the Bethany Bulls, and Lane Kelly is batting .250 with the Austin Gold Sox.
