WACO, Texas - The Baylor women's golf team begins postseason play this weekend at the 2015 Big 12 Women's Golf Championship in San Antonio, Texas. BU will compete against eight other teams beginning Friday at the Dominion Country Club.

The 19th-annual event will be held at a neutral site for the first time. The three-day, 54-hole tournament runs Friday through Sunday, and the nine teams in the field are seeded based on the latest national rankings: No. 1 Oklahoma State, No. 2 Baylor, No. 3 Iowa State, No. 4 Texas Tech, No. 5 Texas, No. 6 TCU, No. 7 Oklahoma, No. 8 Kansas and No. 9 Kansas State.

"I love that we are playing at a neutral site," head coach Jay Goble said. "I think it's awesome. I think leveling the playing field and playing somewhere nobody's played is good."

The Lady Bears are ranked No. 25 in the latest GolfStat rankings. Last year, Baylor finished in third place at the Big 12 Championship and advanced to the NCAA East Regional, where the team finished in 10th place. Hayley Davis tied for second place individually at the East Regional and moved on to the NCAA Women's Championships, where she recorded the program's best-ever finish in 10th place.

"The girls have not played at the Dominion Country Club," Goble said. "In fact, the Big 12 rule for this last year has been that unless you are a member there, no Big 12 member was allowed to play there. They're really trying to keep it a neutral site."

Baylor's lineup for the Big 12 Championship features senior Davis, freshman Dylan Kim, junior Laura Lonardi, freshman Giovana Maymon and freshman Lauren Whyte.

"We're just trying to do the same thing we've been talking about all year," Goble said. "We're going to go out there controlling what we can control, go out there with a good attitude and a good process and just hit golf shots. We can't control anything that anybody else is doing, or the weather, or anything else, so we're going to go out there and play our own games and take care of business."

Baylor players will begin the first round at 8 a.m. CT from the first hole in groupings with players from Oklahoma State and Iowa State. Pairings were determined by the most recent Golfweek/Sagarin team rankings. For the second and third days, the order of the teams will be reversed from the first day with the leaders teeing off last.
