- Baylor (12-15, 4-5) came up short in its attempt to sweep Oklahoma (18-12, 3-3) as the Sooners earned a 13-3 victory Sunday afternoon at Baylor Ballpark behind an eight-run first inning.

The Sooners' eight runs in the first came off starter Kody Hessemer (1-1), who only recorded one out while giving up six hits, one walk and one HBP. Troy Montemayor cooled the OU bats to end the inning and gave Baylor 4.2 scoreless innings before the Sooners added a run in the seventh off Brad Kuntz, three in the eighth off Kyle Ott and one in the ninth off Case Smith.

Baylor scored in the fifth inning on a Logan Brown sacrifice fly, sixth on a Kameron Esthay RBI single and eighth on a Matt Menard RBI double.

OU starter Robert Tasin (5-1) earned the win after surrendering two runs on seven hits with four strikeouts in six innings.

*Baylor is 376-159 all-time at Baylor Ballpark, 10-5 this season and has won 16 of its 21 home series since 2012, including all four thus far in 2015 (No. 13 Cal Poly, 3-0 | Kent State, 2-1 | West Virginia, 2-1 | Oklahoma, 2-1).
