Game One Box Score | Game Two Box Score

THE RUNDOWN
WACO, Texas - After 11 games on the road, Getterman Stadium was kind to the No. 16 Baylor Bears at home Tuesday as the home team swept Houston in a doubleheader, winning game one 9-4, and game two, 8-4.

Sarah Beth Toben picked up two wins in relief for the BU pitching staff to improve to 6-0 on the season. The Baylor offense saw a balanced effort with Jordan Strickland and Shelby Friudenberg driving home two runs apiece in game one, and Linsey Hays had two RBI in game two.

Baylor trailed 4-2 in the second game before RBI singles from Hays and Kaitlyn Thumann tied the score at four. The Bears took the lead scoring two runs on a throwing error by the Houston catcher in the bottom of the sixth before adding two more insurance runs on a sacrifice fly from Lindsey Cargill and an RBI single from Shelby Friudenberg.

Despite a 3-run fourth for the Cougars in the first game, Baylor's 6-1 start and an answer with two runs in the bottom of the fourth helped the Bears keep the edge.

? Friudenberg's seventh home run, a solo shot in the sixth, gave her the team lead. ? Thumann and Robin Landrith each scored two runs apiece.

THEY SAID IT
Glenn Moore on Baylor moving forward after DH win ...
"I think we're getting better, we still have a long way to go to be where I'd like to be with this team. We've got a large upside. I think our pitching is at a stalemate right now, and we need to find a way to juice that up a little bit, and maybe we can focus on that in the next few days as we prepare for North Texas next weekend."

WHAT'S NEXT
Baylor takes on North Texas in Denton March 25 at 6 p.m.
