SAN MARCOS, Texas - Playing its third match in as many nights, Baylor struggled in a 25-14, 25-19, 25-23 loss to Wichita State Thursday on the campus of Texas State. The Shockers (2-2) hit .312 for the match and limited the Bears (4-2) to a .196 hitting effort.
Despite struggling offensively as a unit, Katie Staiger hit .433 with a career-high 16 kills and Thea Munch Soegaard's nine kills came on a .333 hitting effort. However, the rest of the team combined for just 12 kills with 12 errors on 39 attempts for a .000 hitting percentage.
Wichita State hit .385 in set one, hit .417 in set two and MIkaela Raudsepp and Abbie Lehman finished with 11 and 10 kills, respectively.
Baylor was down 18-14 in set three and fought back to take a 20-19 lead, however, the Shockers rebounded, knotting the score at 23 and scored the final two points of the match.
