NCAA West Regional Final Results 
THE RUNDOWN
EUGENE, Ore. - Baylor's men's golf team concluded its 2013-14 season with a 10th-place finish at the NCAA Eugene Regional. The Bears shot 15-over-par 295 in Saturday's final round, and they finished at 53-over 893 for the tournament, 13 strokes back of the top five teams that advanced to the NCAA Championships.
Baylor's 295 in the third round tied for the fourth-best in the 13-team field. Andreas Gjesteby led the way with a 1-over-par 71, which helped him tie for 22nd place individually at 10-over 220 for the tournament. Kyle Jones shot 3-over 73 and Filippo Zucchetti shot 6-over 76, as both finished tied for 39th at 14-over 224.
Jerry Ruiz, who missed graduation ceremonies while playing, shot 5-over 75 and finished tied for 48th at 16-over 226 for the tournament. Niclas Mansson shot 7-over 77 on Saturday to finish at 28-over 238, tied for 67th place. Baylor began the final round on the 10th hole, and the Bears combined to shoot 1-over as a team over the first nine holes, but BU combined to shoot 13-over as a team over the final nine holes.
Stanford won the regional at 13-over 853, while Oregon (+14), Oklahoma (+20), Houston (+35) and South Carolina (+40) also finished in the top five to earn berths in the NCAA Championships.
HIGHLIGHTS
• Ruiz officially graduated on Sunday, but he missed Baylor's commencement ceremonies while playing in the NCAA Eugene Regional.
• Baylor shot 3-under as a team on the par-5 13th hole, with Jones, Gjesteby and Zucchetti contributing birdies.
• The Bears were 2-under as a team on the par-4 11th and par-4 17th holes. Jones birdied both, while Gjesteby birdied No. 11 and Mansson birdies No. 17.
• Baylor played its first nine holes at 1-over par as a team, with Gjesteby taking the turn at 1-under, Zucchetti at even-par and Ruiz and Mansson both at 1-over.
• Jones had the Bears' best final nine holes at 1-over. He and Zucchetti each made one birdie over the final nine holes, accounting for the Bears' only two birdies during the second half of the round.
• Jones led the team with four birdies, followed by Gjesteby with three, Mansson and Zucchetti with two apiece and Ruiz with one.
