THE RUNDOWN
WACO, Texas - No. 25 Oklahoma used 15 kills from Kierra Holst and 10 service aces as a team to help defeat Baylor in three sets Saturday night, 26-24, 25-14, 26-24 at the Ferrell Center. The Sooners suffered just 11 attacking errors in the match and hit .248 in the win.

Holst hit .351 on 37 attempts with just two errors, added a service ace and five digs to lead the Sooners. Julia Doyle and Emma Kelly had three service aces apiece to combine for six of Oklahoma's (17-7, 8-3) 10. Baylor (13-13, 3-8) hit .189 for the match and could not overcome 20 attacking errors. Andie Malloy posted her 15th double-double of the season and Tori Cox had a season-high eight kills on a .500 attacking percentage.

In the first set the lead was no larger than three points for either team, but kills from OU's Kimmy Gardiner and Madison Ward had kills consecutively to break a 24-all tie for the Sooners' first set win. In the second set with the score tied at nine, a 9-1 run for OU was fueled by five attacking errors, a receiving error and a ball-handling error from the Bears that allowed the Sooners to cruise to a two sets to none advantage. The third set was much like the first with no team leading by more than three points, and the Sooners scored the final two points of the match after a 24-all tie; Ward's kill and Marion Hazelwood's service ace sealed the match for OU.

THEY SAID IT

Jim Barnes on Baylor's struggle Saturday night …
"I thought our players did not play well tonight. We had three freshmen on the court, and all three really struggled. And, we put ourselves in a position to win set one and three, and in that moment we didn't execute."

WHAT'S NEXT

Baylor will play host to TCU Wednesday at 7 p.m. and the game will be televised on Fox Sports Southwest.
